Tragedy Strikes Lewiston, Maine: Mass Shooting Leaves 22 Dead and Dozens Injured

Lewiston, Maine – In a horrifying and tragic turn of events, the close-knit community of Lewiston, Maine, was rocked by a mass shooting that unfolded at several locations, leaving at least 22 people dead and scores more wounded. Here’s what we know so far about the Lewiston mass shooting and the heart-wrenching devastation that followed.

Lewiston police sources have confirmed that at least 22 individuals lost their lives in a series of shootings that took place at various locations in the area, including Schemengees Bar and Sparetime Recreation.

The carnage didn’t stop with the fatalities, as reports indicate that between 50 to 60 individuals sustained injuries at various locations, including a local bowling alley. In response to the magnitude of the incident, a local medical center declared it a “mass casualty” event. Consequently, officials have urged residents in Lewiston and Auburn to shelter in place as the investigation unfolds.

The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office released images of a man brandishing a rifle with the caption “suspect for identification.” Lewiston police have declared a “manhunt” for an individual allegedly connected to the shootings. Law enforcement officials are actively seeking to locate and apprehend this individual.
